IncidentLas Vegas Backyard Encounter (30 April 2023)

aka Las Vegas alien backyard · North Las Vegas encounter 2023

Two brothers in a North Las Vegas backyard called 911 reporting two "eight-foot creatures with large eyes" beside a downed luminous object; the LVMPD body-cam footage and the 911 call audio were both released and remain on file in the police record.

What's documented

At approximately 23:50 local time on 30 April 2023, the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department received multiple 911 calls reporting a bright object descending in the area of North 30th Street and Las Vegas Boulevard North. LVMPD dispatch logs and the FAA’s air-traffic recordings for Harry Reid International Airport both note witness reports of a luminous object in the sky over North Las Vegas at the relevant minute; a separate LVMPD body-cam recording, released under a public-records request to local NBC affiliate KLAS-TV (Channel 8) on 1 June 2023, captures responding officer Bobby Long’s audible reaction — “What the [expletive] is that?” — looking up at the sky while another officer states “I see it too.”

The associated 911 call came from a teenage caller identifying himself as Angel Kenmore (16) at his family’s residence. The caller reported that his brother had seen “two beings” in their backyard near a downed object; that one was approximately eight feet tall with “big eyes”; that the family was frightened. The call audio was subsequently released by LVMPD. Responding officers searched the backyard at the address and found no creatures and no object, but both officers and other witnesses reported the contemporaneous aerial light over the area.

What is documented and what is interpreted should be kept separate. The documented record consists of: (a) multiple independent witness reports of a luminous descending object, recorded on dispatch and body-cam audio; (b) the 911 call from the Kenmore residence reporting two unidentified beings in the backyard; (c) the responding officers’ on-scene reaction to the sky-light. Nothing in the documented record establishes the presence of “creatures”; the interpretation belongs to the callers, and the family declined to make further public statements through 2024.

The case is unusual not for what it proves but for the cross-channel documentation of an ordinary urban 911 call about a UAP-related claim in which the responding agency’s footage corroborates at least the aerial component. The LVMPD did not open an extraterrestrial-encounter case file; the incident was logged and closed.
