AARO (All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office) apparatus-event
AARO is the Department of Defense office established in July 2022 under a
Congressional (NDAA) mandate to detect, identify, attribute, and resolve
"unidentified anomalous phenomena" across air, sea, space, and
"transmedium" domains. After first director Sean Kirkpatrick departed in
late 2023 amid a transparency controversy, it published a landmark
Historical Record Report (March 2024) concluding there is no empirical
evidence the U.S. government or its contractors recovered or
reverse-engineered extraterrestrial technology — a finding that
contradicts whistleblower David Grusch and remains contested.
AARO is the first permanent, statutorily-mandated U.S. UAP body — the end
of the lineage that began with Project Sign and ran through Blue Book,
AAWSAP/AATIP, and the UAP Task Force. Its Historical Record Report is the
government's most direct official rebuttal of the crash-retrieval /
reverse-engineering narrative, and it produces the recurring official
statistics on UAP resolution. It sits at the center of the live
transparency fight between DoD/ODNI and Congress, making it the corpus's

Annual Report (Nov 2024) logs 757 reports, 49 resolved (all prosaic —
balloons, birds, UAS), 21 worth further analysis. In Feb 2025 AARO posts

characteristics (corroborated independently by Bellingcat). GIMBAL and
