The Cussac Encounter under-corroborated
On the morning of 29 August 1967, two young siblings herding cattle near Cussac
in the Cantal, France, reported four small black humanoid beings around a
brilliant sphere that rose into the sky with a whistling sound and a sulfur
smell — a case later investigated by France's official state UFO body,
GEPAN/GEIPAN (CNES), which classified it among its unexplained cases and judged
the children's account internally consistent.
Cussac is a rare CE3 (close encounter with entities) with child witnesses that
received formal government scientific scrutiny — the official French agency
(GEPAN/GEIPAN, CNES) studied it and could not explain it. It strengthens two
corpus dimensions at once: the French/official-investigation thread and the

leaving a sulfur odor and disturbed/dried grass; the cows bellow and the
children go home in tears, with disturbed sleep for several nights. A
