IncidentProject Blue Beam (1994)

aka Project Blue Beam (1994)

Project Blue Beam is a conspiracy theory advanced by Canadian journalist Serge Monast in 1994, alleging that NASA and the UN/New World Order plan to use satellites, holograms, and electronic 'voice-of-God' broadcasts to stage a fake global event - a simulated alien invasion and/or fake Second Coming - to frighten humanity into accepting a one-world government and religion; there is no evidence such a project exists, and it is documented as a written claim and a durable piece of modern folklore, not as an event.

documented-hoax A conspiracy theory, not an event: an evidence-free fabricated narrative attributable to a single originator (Monast, 1994) with no factual basis, documented as a cultural artifact. It recycles older NWO/Protocols/end-times tropes, makes falsifiable technological claims that fail, and survives as unfalsifiable folklore that treats every real event as confirmation. Filed as a documented hoax (a fabricated narrative), with a note that its pivotal cultural role is as a belief about deception - a lens reflexively applied to real UFO/UAP events - rather than a documented program.

Serge Monast (1945-1996), a Montreal journalist and New World Order author, laid out the theory in his 1994 work ‘Project Blue Beam (NASA)’ and lectures, describing a four-step plan: (1) faked archaeological ‘discoveries’ (via induced earthquakes) to discredit established religions; (2) a giant orbital holographic ‘space show’ projecting religious figures merging into one Antichrist/new-messiah, plus a staged fake alien invasion; (3) telepathic ‘voice of God’ ELF/’voice-to-skull’ broadcasts speaking to each person; and (4) a staged supernatural manifestation to terrify populations into surrendering sovereignty for the NWO. His 1995 ‘Protocoles de Toronto’ echoed the antisemitic forgery ‘Protocols of the Elders of Zion,’ situating Blue Beam in older NWO/end-times tropes. Monast died of a heart attack in 1996 (believers reject the natural-causes ruling as martyrdom). The theory persists and revives whenever real events echo its imagery - the late-2024 NJ/NY drone flap, hologram/drone-show tech, ‘blue spiral’ rocket contrails - amplified by figures like Alex Jones. The canonical fake-alien-invasion / staged-disclosure conspiracy theory - a distinct genre where the UFO motif is weaponized as a predicted government deception, complementing the disinformation thread by adding the meta-level belief that disclosure itself will be a hoax.
