IncidentBilly Meier & the Plejaren Contacts (1975-)

Eduard Albert ‘Billy’ Meier (b. 1937) claims contacts resuming 28 January 1975 with Semjase and later Ptaah, and produced over 1,000 ‘beamship’ photographs, 8mm films, alleged metal/crystal samples, and voluminous channeled writings (the Contact Reports, the Talmud Jmmanuel), founding the organization FIGU and a devoted community at Hinterschmidruti. Lt. Col. Wendelle Stevens mounted a multi-volume defense, but the skeptical findings dominate: Meier’s ex-wife Kalliope said the photos were small models from household objects posed on the farm; the ‘Wedding Cake’ UFO was matched to a model; the famous ‘Asket’/’Nera’ extraterrestrial portraits were shown to be re-photographs of two American TV dancers from ‘The Dean Martin Show’ (identified by debunker Kal Korff), to which Meier offered a post-hoc ‘Men in Black adulterated my photos’ rationalization; and a re-analysis (Ivan Alvarado) of the metal samples - once reported anomalous by IBM’s Marcel Vogel - found ordinary terrestrial metals and instrument-reading error. Meier is the second major contactee figure after George Adamski and the most prolific producer of faked physical ‘evidence’ in the lineage; together they define the contactee template - charismatic claimant, benevolent space-people, channeled cosmic teaching, and a durable quasi-religious organization.
