IncidentThe Kumburgaz / Turkey Videos (2007-2009)

Yalman, a guard at the Yeni Kent Compound on the Marmara coast, recorded an object low over the sea across multiple mornings using a camcorder with a ~200x optical zoom adapter, supplying ~2.5 hours of footage to the Sirius UFO Space Sciences Research Center, whose head Haktan Akdogan declared it ‘100 per cent genuine’ and emphasized silhouettes of ‘living beings’ inside. Turkey’s TUBITAK National Observatory found no obvious CGI/montage but explicitly could not determine the object’s distance, size, or identity for lack of any in-frame reference. The object appears as a glittering metallic oval that shimmers, with zoomed frames some read as two dark ‘heads’ in a window-like opening. The leading skeptical reading (Andres Duarte; Metabunk) is a distant ship/yacht or shore lights magnified ~200x and distorted by heat-haze over warm water, the shimmer turning it into an ‘oval craft’ and reflections into ‘figures.’ A prominent video-age recapitulation of the photographic distance/scale problem: with no scale reference, ‘craft’ vs ‘distant boat’ is unfalsifiable from the footage, and the occupant claim is single-source from the interested promoter.
