IncidentThe Emilcin Abduction (10 May 1978, Poland)

Jan Wolski (1907-1990), driving a horse cart, said two humanoids ~1.5 m tall with greenish faces, slanted eyes, and grey tight clothing joined him and directed him to a forest clearing, where a white craft ‘as long as a bus’ hovered ~16 ft up with four black drill-like protrusions emitting a hum; an elevator-like platform raised him inside, where he was gestured to undress and was examined with disc-like devices, then released. He reported immobilized but twitching rooks near the door, an icicle-like food he declined, and a lingering sulfur smell; family and a neighbor examined site traces (trodden grass, rectangular marks). A recorded interview was made in July 1978; the local school teacher and communist-era Citizen Militia interviewed Wolski and schoolchildren (concluding he had ‘fallen asleep and dreamed everything’), and a University of Lodz team reportedly administered psychological testing. In 2005 the Warsaw-based Nautilus Foundation erected a monument at Emilcin - one of the world’s few dedicated UFO monuments. It is the canonical Polish/Eastern-European abduction case, occurring inside the communist bloc with minimal Western UFO-media saturation, and an unusual abductee profile (an elderly, sober, poorly educated farmer with no apparent motive) - a relatively clean study of single-witness testimony in a low-contamination cultural context.
